About The Holly Bush Inn, Hexham
The Holly Bush has been serving beer for over 300 years and is one of the few ancient drovers inns left in Northumberland.
The village of Greenhaugh lies in the beautiful Tarset Valley located in the Northumberland National Park, it is a good base to explore the area by foot, cycle or by car.
The Holly Bush offers bed and breakfast accommodation and has 4 bedrooms all with private bathrooms. The rooms have comfortable double beds with good quality linens. There is a family room or there is the option of adding a superior air-bed when needed. All rooms have hospitality trays with tea and coffee making facilities, TV, internet access. They also have hairdryers and a complimentary range of quality toiletries.
A drying room can be used by walkers and cyclists who have been caught out in the rain and laundry facilities can be made available. For cyclists there is also a secure ‘lock-up’ facility, bike frames and a hose for running repairs….
A short journey away is Kielder with its many attractions including the observatory and the largest man made lake in Europe. The Border Reiver country, Hadrian’s Wall and Alnwick Gardens are just a few of the places of interest which are all easily accessible.
All visitors to the Holly Bush always receive a warm welcome from the locals and you can enjoy a pint of real ale in the bar chatting about the days activities whilst enjoying the warm ambience that is created by the old black-leaded range.
The Holly Bush has also played host to Royal Visitors, previous landlords Tim and Christine Morris had the pleasure of receiving the Prince of Wales and Camilla at the Holly Bush in 2007. His Royal Highness and the Duchess of Cornwall were visiting the area to meet famers and members of the local community and the Holly Bush was chosen as the perfect venue to do just that.
ROOM 1
A cream and brass iron bedstead sets the tone of this room which is decorated in lime green and brown. There is an option of putting a blow-up bed in this room
Room rate for bed and breakfast is £85 for 2 people sharing. If the third bed is required please add on £20. Single occupancy is £50.
ROOM 2
Dressed in shades of blue with warm coloured wooden furniture this room has a cosy country feel to it.
Room rate based on bed and breakfast is £80. Single occupancy is £45.
ROOM 3
Suitable for use as a family room it has a double bed and a large single – also known as a 4’ bed.
Room rate for bed and breakfast based on 2 people sharing is £85
When used as a family room and extra £20 needs to be added on.
Single occupancy is £50
ROOM 4
With colours of soft pinks and creams, a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere is created.
Room rate for bed and breakfast is £90
Single occupancy is £55.
