Relaxing peaceful

Kevinno7, Leeds, United Kingdom
Stayed with my wife on a Sunday night, the hotel is quite remote which I like beautiful building in lovely surroundings about 5 miles from seahouses,we checked in at 3pm and had booked one of the coach houses which are outside of the main hotel building the reception gave us our key went down to the coach house which is about a 5 minute walk to find the room had not been serviced from the last guest so we returned to reception which apologised and gave us some tea while we waited about 40 minutes, once we got into our room again everything was brilliant the room was spacious clean warm with a huge bathroom we didn’t eat in the restaurant because quite frankly the prices are a complete rip off so we drove to seahouses instead and ate in a lovely restaurant there, the breakfast was very good the leisure facilities are excellent and would definitely stay again

Glad to say I've been!

Donna O,
We visited for out 1 year wedding anniversary. The staff on reception were fab. Very understanding of our personal circumstances.cannot fault them. We stayed in croquet which is one of the coach house rooms. The room decor was beautiful and bed was so comfy i didnt want to get out of it.As we were staying at doxford hall i expected high stangards but there were just a couple of things that let it down for us slightly. The room had ALOT of cobwebs in it especially near the curtains and beams. There were a few insects crawling around the bathroom floor...they looked very much like ants. Also the glasses were filthy.. they had toothpaste or something or similar that had run down the sides. Also the breakfast for me was disappointing. The toast was cold and floppy. It resembled warmed bread rather than toasted bread and we wanted a poached egg which was well over cooked. Overall good but slightly disappointing however we would visit again as we did enjoy our stay.

Disappointed

Sara C,
Beautiful hotel but very disappointed by the attitude and rudeness of the very unprofessional receptionists.. Huge let down for a beautiful hotel. Spa area of the hotel is very small but pleasant enough.. Had a great selection for breakfast however the coffee and toast arrived when we had almost finished eating. A taxi to the closest town Alnwick cost £50 return and given that there is very little to do at the hotel and the spa is very small it works out rather expensive unless you come with your own car.

Fabulous

We stayed here on Sunday evening for £99 b&b. It was excellent value, great breakfast and use of the spa, inc. Turkish, sauna, pool and jacuzzi from 2 pm on Sunday leaving at 11 am on Monday. The evening dinner was beautifully presented and very tasty, I love the gf amuse Bouche. Really nice as I often have to miss such treats. The hotel is close to Embleton and Craster, Beadnell and Seahouses. It is an enchanting area. The hotel is very tastefully furnished and is in very good condition. Highly recommend it.

Perfect

This was a present from my children for our 30th wedding anniversary and it was a magical evening. The setting was so picturesque, the gardens well kept. The hotel itself was opulent and spotless all too often these hotels are shabby not this one. We stayed in the coach house away from the hotel this was ideal, spacious and modern. Our meal was a la carte really tasty I had lamb my husband had chicken. The desserts were very rich. Staff were so helpful and professional. Breakfast was a range of foodstuffs including kippers! They were gorgeous. Our only regret is that we only stayed for one night. I hope to return at some point and explore this area in more depth.
