Travel Tips

Group Trips to our Towns
Planning a group visit can be a tricky business, especially when coordinating a larger coach visit. We’re here to help, so we have put together downloadable guides to Northumberland’s towns.

Group Travel Guidance

Many people tell us they travelled through Northumberland on the way to Edinburgh or York but didn’t realise what they were missing! The main A1 road runs through the county from top to bottom, making many of our top attractions easily accessible.

The A69 runs across the county linking us with the Lake District and Carlisle in the west and Newcastle in the east, mirroring the path of Hadrian’s Wall.

The East Coast Mainline also runs through Northumberland, one of its most scenic sections, and only 3 hours on the train from London makes hiring transport locally a great option for groups wanting to make the most of their holiday time.

Details about coach parking in Northumberland can be found on the Northumberland County Council car parks page.

Northumberland has a network of Visitor Information Centres who are also happy to help with local enquiries, including coach parking in Northumberland.
