QHotels’ Slaley Hall has unveiled a giant gingerbread replica of the hotel to get guests into the Christmas spirit.
The 4ft wide by 2ft high gingerbread model, crafted by Alistair Walklett, Head Pastry Chef at Slaley Hall, took over 90 hours to create and is complete with 1,300 roof tiles, working lights and even a water feature.
The gingerbread masterpiece will be on display in the reception of the hotel over the festive period, for guests to view during their stay.
Slaley Hall is set in the ideal location for a luxury winter break. From the dramatic exterior of the Edwardian mansion and the acres of moorland and forest that surround the resort, to the cosy interior with wooden-panelled walls and roasting fire, and the hotel’s new addition will give guests extra cheer over the festive season.
Christopher Wayne-Wills, General Manager of Slaley Hall, said: “We wanted to create something unique this year and Alistair, our Head Pastry Chef, spent over 90 painstaking hours preparing and building our fun, unusual Christmas display. The overall result is incredible!
“The decorations and cosy feel at the hotel always make for a fantastic festive spirit in the winter months, but the gingerbread Slaley Hall is helping to make it an extra special fairy tale Christmas at the hotel this year.”
Former Edwardian mansion, set in 1,000 acres. Two international championship standard golf courses, 20m swimming-pool, health and beauty spa and outdoor pursuits.
