Rye Hill Farm offers you the freedom to enjoy the history and beauty of Northumberland throughout the year, while staying in the pleasant family atmosphere of a cosy farm adapted especially to receive holiday makers, both self catering or bed and breakfast.
The bed and breakfast is in self-contained farm-buildings that were formerly used as cow byres with feed stores above, many of the original features have been kept. We have a variety of bedrooms according to your requirements, and all are centrally heated. Each one is equipped with colour television, hot beverage facilities, en-suite bathrooms and lovely large towels.
We provide a full English breakfast usually served between 8 and 9, with warning we can be flexible on the timings. Evening meals are served at 7:30, are a speciality using local seasonal ingredients, all home cooked, so prior booking is required.
Additional facilities include laundry facilities, a games barn with pool table, bike shed and close car parking.
This is a 300 year old Northumbrian stone farmhouse and adjoining barns set in its own 30 acre of rural Tynedale. We hope that you will be able to see something of life on a small working farm, with its flock of sheep, few pigs, poultry and ponies.
There is a good network of footpaths for walks along the riversides through Slaley forest of up onto the moors. Northumbria is famous for its rich supply of castles, roman remains and early religious sites as well as its wonderful open countryside. A week is hardly long enough to see all of it.
