Overview

A traditional stone-built Northumbrian farmhouse, benefiting from full central heating throughout. The Lee offers bed and breakfast accommodation of the very highest of standards.

The award-winning accommodation, set in beautiful countryside, features an exclusive guests lounge with comfortable chairs and colour TV. In the winter there is a cosy log fire to snuggle up to while you unwind from the day's activities.

The Lee is a working livestock farm covering 1100 acres which the Aynsley family have farmed for over 125 years. Guests are more than welcome to take a look around the farm or to enjoy one of the many delightful walks around the area.

The 3 guest bedrooms are all decorated and appointed to the highest of standards, each with extensive views over the surrounding countryside. All have colour TVs, hairdryers, electric blankets and full hospitality trays, complete with hand-made biscuits.

Guests begin their day with a hearty farmhouse breakfast using, where at all possible, local produce. Of course a lighter alternative is also available.

The Lee is located near the pretty village of Rothbury, sitting virtually at the heart of Northumberland, which makes us the ideal holiday base from which to explore this magnificent and varied county.

Winner of the Pride of Northumbria Bed and Breakfast of the Year 2001.

Superb second visit

Elizabeth C,
Fantastic farmhouse experience. From a lovely welcome with tea and homemade cakes to an amazing breakfast. We stayed here last year with our son who enjoyed the farm and the livestock experiences. Susan and Paul are perfect hosts. Lovely bedroom with comfy bed and large clean bathroom, the towels smelt lovely too! Good choice of pubs nearby for dinner. We'll be back next year for our third visit.

Trudi J,
Susan is lovely, very helpful! We had a warm greeting when we arrived, with tea & homemade cake. The bed was very comfortable & the room had wonderful views.. The views are stunning. It is so peaceful. This is an excellent place to visit Alnwick, Cragside, Seahouses, Amble & more, I was lucky enough to hold one of the lambs & feed one. The breakfast is delicious, with alot of choice.

Fabulous Farm Stay

Carolyn R, Edinburgh, United Kingdom
Very warm welcome from Susan the owner. We stayed in the Heather room; lovely decor and comfortable with superb views. Delicious breakfast then round to see the lambs. Great place for a peaceful base to discover Northumberland.

The Lee Farm replied: Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. It was lovely to have you to stay with us. I hope to see you again soon.

Second Visit even better than the first

ShellyN1643, Wirral, United Kingdom
We have just returned from our second visit to Lee Farm. Having been there last year we booked again for this year. We had the same room as last year but, it had been refurbished to a very high standard. I did not think you could improve on this excellent B&B, but I was wrong. We are not the only people to return to this outstanding place, another couple that we met at breakfast, were return visitors. I dont think there can be any higher recommendation than to go back to somewhere for a second visit. Do stay at Lee Farm, you will not be disapointed.

The Lee Farm replied: Thank you so much for your review. I am pleased you liked the recent refurbishment to your bedroom. I hope to see you again next year.

Amazing

Brenda F,
What a wonderful little gem I found...susan greeted us with tea and home made cakes and made us feel very welcome, our room was absolutely lovely with a homely touch and spotlessly clean. We picked a working farm to stay on and was hoping to see some lambs being born well we wasn't disappointed. Paul the farmer was absolutely lovely and never made us feel in the way or bored with our constant questions, and I even delivered twin lambs which was something I've allways wanted to do! We will definitely be going back next year and probably every year after that. The only down side about our stay was having to go home! Thank you sasun and paul for a truly wonderful holiday and for making us feel so welcome.

The Lee Farm replied: Thank you for your great review. I am pleased you enjoyed your lambing experience! Only 300 left to go now. The end is in sight! See you next year.
