Dating back to the mid 1800’s beautiful HENSHAW BARN, is a sympathetic conversion of an ancient building, it’s exposed stone walls and wooden beams acting as a constant reminder of its rural heritage. Located in a small hamlet, surrounded by rolling fields and enviable views, yet a mere 4 miles from the most scenic parts of the Roman Wall, and within easy walking distance of the internationally renowned museum at Vindolanda it’s a brilliant base for walkers and cyclists.
In sharp contrast, and very close by, are the pretty market towns of Hexham and Corbridge. Guests with transport can travel even further afield, to the historic cities of Carlisle, Newcastle and Durham - take delight in sumptuous houses, stunning gardens, magnificent castles, impressive cathedrals, breath taking beaches, dark skied Kielder - and also savour the space, splendour and solitude of Northumberland’s National Park.

Guests can enjoy two thoughtfully equipped, well appointed, stylish rooms, both furnished with country antiques, crisp linen, and power showers and supplied with well stocked welcome trays, flat screen TV’s, and lots of books. Not forgetting the food! Chef John provides guests with fabulous food. He creates ‘high end’ restaurant quality meals using fresh, locally sourced products, some homegrown in our allotment. Menus change seasonally, and vegetarians, vegans and those with more specific needs are very much catered for. Our breakfasts and evening meals are highly praised.
