Birthday treat for my boyfriend

Alicehenry1991,
We visited this b&b from, 30th December to the 1st January to celebrate my boyfriends birthday as well as our anniversary. I had called ahead in November to ask if some balloons and banners could be put up as a surprise for my boyfriend and it was absolutely no bother to Kathryn who more than happy to do this for me. When we arrived Paul greeted us, explained everything we needed to know and showed us to our room. We had chosen the double at the end which had the 4 piece en suite and the bathroom overlooking the alpaca field. The room was lovely and warm, we loved the decor and found the room overall very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, we couldn't get enough of the homemade bread, absolutely delicious. Between us we had a mix of things from then menu but I loved the full Northumberland. I asked if I could swap some of the things I didn't like (mushrooms and tomatoes) for potatoe rostis instead (which I love) and again this was no bother for Paul who was more than accommodating at breakfast. We definitely didn't go without. A big hand to Paul who on the 2nd day did breakfast for 6 single handedly and still produced a quality breakfast and service. We asked Paul if we could go and see the alpacas (which we were really excited about) and again this was no bother. He took us into the paddock after breakfast and told us all about the alpacas in the paddock. They were very friendly and were not phased by strangers being there. We loved going into the bathroom and seeing if the alpacas were in view. They are such funny animals. Paul has an abundance of knowledge of the local area if you need any recommendations of what to do or where to visit. Overall a very lovely, comfortable and accommodating stay. We definitely weren't ready to leave! Thanks for such a lovely stay.

Fairshaw Rigg replied: Thanks Alice for such a comprehensive and kind review. We do try hard to make everyone's stay enjoyable and it's incredibly rewarding when it is so clearly appreciated

Superb

Celtic21, England
We spent 6 nights at Fairshaw Rigg and both Kathryn and Paul were wonderful hosts and the room was very comfortable and the Duvet (with alpaca inside) added to our comfort. The breakfasts were excellent with so much choice of local produce that we were spoilt for choice. We would certainly recommend Fairshaw Rigg to anyone and the surrounding area has so much to offer that we plan to return when the days are a bit longer.

Fairshaw Rigg replied: Sorry for my tardy response but thanks so much for your kind review. We loved hosting you and look forward to your return.

Fantastic Retreat

Dene70, Yorkshire Lass
If you are looking for a exceptional B&B look no further. Paul and Kathryine are the perfect hosts, friendly, charming and so helpful no matter what your needs are. The bedroom was fantastic spotlessly clean and the colour scheme very pleasing on the eye. There was not a single thing you could have wished for to make the stay more perfect. An excellent breakfast freshly cooked together with warm homemade bread and homemade preserves. What not to like!!! nothing. They have Alpacas which are in a paddock near the house which makes for a wonderful opportunity to view these unique animals close at hand. Going to Northumberland then make this your port of call a must for every traveller.

Fairshaw Rigg replied: Thanks so much for the prompt and very kind review. Hope to see you both back some time soon.

Beautiful B&B, Great Weekend,

Anne C, Glasgow, United Kingdom
This is a top class B&B, the accommodation is lovely, immaculate and very comfortable. The owners are so friendly and the breakfast is top class. They also have a fridge in the hallway with free bottles of milk and water, a nice touch. This is our second visit but wont be our last. The Alpacas are an amazing sight when you open your curtains in the morning. Would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.
