A home from home

A most enjoyable stay where everything we could need was already anticipated. Large, comfortable rooms ideally situated within easy walking distance of the town. The breakfast was lovely and the owners couldn't have been more helpful with many thoughtful touches.

Just got back from a lovely weekend in Alnwick, and this guest house was the icing on the cake. Excellent location, in easy walking distance of all the things Alnwick has to offer such as the pubs, shops, restaurants, and Alnwick Gardens. Attentive service, owners couldn't do enough for you - nice added touches of welcome beers, access to DVD collection, samples of local tea in room. Very generous breakfast options and all of superb quality. We stayed in the Viscount room and it was pristine and comfortable. We look forward to our next visit!

Lovely peaceful and well presented B&B. Easy access to main roads but quiet area and parking free(with a permit available from the owners) and not more than 50 meters away. Very friendly owners who could not do more to make you welcome. Close to the town and amenities. Ideal for seeing beautiful Northumberland.

A lovely weekend destination

Really lovely b&b. Bow House was everything we were hoping for on our weekend stay. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived - the complimentary tea and cake was very much unexpected but appreciated. Our room was clean and inviting and breakfast was superb. Would certainly recommend a visit. We hope to return and explore much more of the surrounding area.

The best of British B&B

Bow House is located in Alnwick town centre and is therefore convenient for all the great attractions in town and for places further afield. The advantage is that it's on a no-through road so it's quiet at night. A temporary resident permit provided means you can park right outside. As other reviewers have said so enthusiastically, you will be very warmly welcomed and very well looked after. The beauty of B&B for me is a great night's sleep and then being able to look forward to a lovely, freshly prepared breakfast to start the day. At Bow House you get both. Our room (Crècy) was delightful. The bed was comfortable, beautifully made up and the en suite was immaculate. The breakfast is top notch; cooked beautifully and served with a friendly smile. You are asked to fill in a form the night before with your cooked meal requirements and the time you'd like to eat; a great idea which worked well. I tried most items on the menu over the three night stay and each breakfast was perfection on a plate. Nothing is too much trouble and, if you need any advice or help (which we did) you can be sure your request will be met with prompt, friendly attention. Truly, this is a faultless example of hospitality. Overall: an outstanding B&B : the epitome of Great British quality in a stunningly beautiful part of the country.
