Super starlight room

chrisandthea, Melton Mowbray, United Kingdom
Am writing this on the second of our three night stay. Room and facilities top class with a starlit ceiling. Breakfast is multiple choice and excellently presented. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone passing or intending to spend some time in the area.

Angel Cottage replied: Many thanks for your lovely review. We do appreciate your time to write it. Glad you enjoyed our little B&b b and would love to welcome you both again if you are in the area.

Top Class Peaceful Haven

My second visit to the Angel Cottage.First time my husband and I stayed in the Starlight room and we were lucky enough to be the first guests ever to stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my husband's birthday. Well can I say, it was fantastic!! Private access into a beautiful, flowered garden, gorgeous, comfy bed with crisp bedding.Lovely, light immaculate room with everything you would need to make your stay feel like a real treat.Especially the twinkle lights in the ceiling! Second visit which I've just returned from was equally wonderful. My friend and I wanted to spend a day at one of our favourite places Holy Island so it seemed only natural to choose Angel Cottage which is literally 10 min away. Had a fantastic day then checked in. Owners were so welcoming and friendly. We stayed in the Nook which is a beautiful twin bedroom with loads of character. Again everything you need for your stay even a sewing kit, paracetamol......Coffee,tea,beautiful bottled water and a welcome basket with treats!! Lovely bathroom, powerful shower and fluffy, white towels.Top class breakfast served in the light annex overlooking the garden. Beautifully cooked and enjoyed listening to the calming music. What more do you need to set you up for days exploring our incredible Northumberland Coast.

Angel Cottage replied: Thank you very much for your lovely review. So pleased to welcome you on a return visit. Hope you both enjoyed a leisurely drive home, via northumberlands coastal route, -and found a nice cake & coffee stop!

Great location, spotlessly clean, but too many 'instructions'

Hazel R, Norwich, United Kingdom
We stayed for one night and can see why others have given this excellent reviews, but for us it was not so perfect. We had the starlight room, we liked the fact that it and the bathroom were spotlessly clean with good quality furniture, an amazing bath and great shower cubicle. The 'extras' with the tea & coffee were lovely and it has a good tv. We alsoliked the fact that it had its own entrance. We didn't like the helpful little 'notes' everywhere telling us what to do e.g. make sure you turn the extractor fan on when using the bath or shower; there was even one on a packet of wet wipes telling you not to flush them and to close the lid, so they don't dry out! There is a lovely little private courtyard with the room, but smokers are clearly instructed to leave the premises entirely and to dispose of cigarette ends responsibly, with the helpful direction to the bin in the car park across the road. There is hot tub, but we were not offered its use and there is an additional charge for doing so. There is a door that goes directly into the dining room where breakfast is served, which is a lovely room, but you can hear people at breakfast if they are earlier than you, so maybe they can also hear you? We also found the room very stuffy as you cannot open a window, as there are only French doors. We also found that the bed dipped in the middle, so both did not sleep well. We felt very welcome at breakfast, more so than when we arrived, we had pre-ordered (not fans of this) and enjoyed chatting to other guests whilst waiting, but it did seem to take longer than expected to arrive. However, breakfast was very good and certainly sets you up for the day. Overall, although we can see the attraction for some people we would not choose to stay here again and did feel that at £95 for one night, it was over priced.

Angel Cottage replied: Thank you for your second review. We are pleased you enjoyed the facilities in The Starlight room and that you appreciated the extra touches. There are helpful reminders for guests as previously we had blocked drains due to wet wipes being flushed. Rather than remove the complimentary wipes we just left a note. Our premises is completely no smoking for the safety and comfort of our guests. At breakfast there are only two other guests and generally they breakfast around half an hour of each other so do not cause a disturbance. The room is well ventilated and the patio doors or the bathroom window can be left open safely. The super king size bed is top of the range pocket sprung with memory foam. Several of our guests have asked for the make of the bed so they can purchase one. See previous reviews. £95 tariff at this time of year is a very reasonable price considering all of the fantastic facilities on offer eg stand alone bath and large shower cubicle, remote control starlit ceiling, super king size bed, exclusive use of patio garden ( and hot tub at an additional cost £10 per person including robes and slippers). We also provide a premium breakfast using the finest local produce and offer a wide range of choice and times. We wish you well with your future bookings.

A Really Special Hidden Gem

My husband and I stayed at the Angel Cottage B&B for 4 nights in June. We had a great time and were so happy we had found Angel Cottage. What a very special place. Lesley and Trish are the perfect hosts. They tell you everything you need to know but are not intrusive at all. They are a fount of knowledge about the area and really helped to ensure our stay was everything we had hoped for. There are only two rooms we liked this very much. We stayed in the Starlight Room and is was gorgeous. Not the biggest room we have been in but more than adequate. It has a super king sized bed with lovely crisp clean bedding - we both slept really well in this bed, very comfy indeed. You have your own key to come and go direct from the room through your own private patio, cottage garden and hot tub. We loved the hot tub in the garden and it was a lovely way to relax with a glass of wine surrounded by all the flowers - lovely! The room has a starlit ceiling which twinkles away all night if you wish (remote control if you don't). We liked this very much, it is a really nice idea and not one we have come across before. The room comes equipped with a decent sized flat screen TV, the best hospitality supplies we have seen with biscuits, snacks, water in addition to the tea coffee etc and even plastic wine glasses and a chiller sleeve to chill down our wine to drink in the hot tub. The bathroom is fabulous with a standalone bath and a separate shower cubicle. All extras have been thought of including full sized toiletries and everything from fluffy white towels to ear buds! Every little think to make your stay feel more special has been included here by these lovely ladies. Breakfast has loads of choice and the full English really filled us up for the day. The breakfast room is lovely. Also beautiful fresh fruit every day. I can't recommend Angel Cottage enough. We will be returning and would not think to stay anywhere else when we are in this part of Northumberland. I would also add that there is so much to see and do in this area that you are spoilt for choice.

Angel Cottage replied: Hi Thank you for your detailed review. We appreciate your comments and are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. We try to think of all the things we would like when we stay in a B&B, hence the extra touches. We hope to see you again sometime. Blessings and best wishes from Angel Cottage.
